This site is a source of information on book prizes, literary awards, shortlisted books and prizewinning books. A brief description of each book is given, with links to reviews.

Some time ago I was looking for this sort of information and couldn't find one up-to-date, systematic centralised source. I had to search around the individual book prize sites to find what I wanted.

I started BookPrizeInfo.com partly to fill this gap and partly as an exercise in database-driven website programming. The site was developed in php and mysql using the excellent Notepad++ editor. The site design is based on a modified version of a template by Template World.

I have started with the major UK and US prizes for fiction, and have limited it to prize data from this century.
