Hugo Award - Best Novel
The Hugo Awards are awards for excellence in the field of science fiction and fantasy. They were first awarded in 1953, and are voted on by fans and awarded each year at the World Science Fiction Convention.
Categories awarded include Novel, Novella, Novelette and Short Story. Works are eligible if they were published in the preceding calendar year, regardless of their place or language of publication.
The Hugo Awards are named after Hugo Gernsback, a famous magazine editor who founded Amazing Stories, the first major American SF magazine, and did much to bring science fiction to a wider audience.
